Social Media

During my two years at HVAF, I was in charge of running our social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I posted at least twice per day on Facebook and Twitter, at least once per week/once per month on Instagram, and occasionally on LinkedIn.

Check out some of my posts on each channel below:

PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCALIQ

In summer 2019, I worked with LocalIQ and Gannett Company to create an ad that would show a brand new audience all about HVAF and what they are doing to help homeless veterans. It helped HVAF gained hundreds of Facebook likes, and brought lots of engagement, including lots of comments from users wanting to help our veterans.

#TwelveVetsofChristmas Campaign

Because I was able to feature one veteran each month in 2019, we wanted to celebrate all of them as well as promote end-of-year giving. I helped with the first week of the campaign, as it continued after my last day of work (December 20, 2019).

Here are the social media posts I created:

I made a Facebook cover photo to show our supporters how we are celebrating all of the veterans we served in 2019:

Here are some of the e-mails I helped my successor create for our supporters:

Giving Tuesday 2019 Campaign

For Giving Tuesday 2019, we had a goal to raise lots of money in order to provide winter gear, Christmas gifts, and essential pantry items for our veterans and their families. Due to our campaign efforts, we were able to raise $1,542! This was wonderful due to this being our first time with an intentional Giving Tuesday campaign.

I created a cover photo on Facebook in order for our supporters to clearly see we were participating in Giving Tuesday… and to tease our campaign:

I made lots of social media posts leading up to Giving Tuesday, as well as during the big day:

Also, I made sure to thank our supporters the day after… sharing how much they raised:

Here are the graphics I created:

Here are the several e-mails I sent to our promoters to encourage them to choose us on Giving Tuesday:

There is still time to join us on Giving Tuesday!

Operation Alpha 2019 Campaign

Starting in September 2019, I worked to promote our annual fundraiser: Operation Alpha. Aside from social media and e-mail promotion, I also assisted with event planning for the fundraiser. We were able to raise $47,650!

Check out the Facebook event

Check out my blog post promoting the event

I added a Facebook cover (as well as Twitter cover)

I created a poster, sponsorship information packet, and sponsor logo poster:

Each sponsor received at least one shout-out on our social media. Here are some of the shout-outs:

Brian’s $60 for 60th Birthday Campaign

In September 2019, HVAF’s President & CEO Brian Copes celebrated his 60th birthday. As a way to honor him (an Army veteran) and promote our organization, I put together a campaign to encourage our supporters to donate $60 in honor of his 60th birthday. At the end of the week-long campaign, we raised about $1,000 (through Facebook and our website)!

I created a Facebook Fundraiser

I added Facebook cover photo:

My supervisor and I put together a video promoting the campaign, that included Brian:

I created several graphics….

I put together a video of everyone in the office saying Happy Birthday to Brian:

Here is an e-mail I sent to our supporters regarding the campaign:

Happy Birthday, Brian!
